A6646: A Top-Loading Hiking Pack for Small Dogs
A6646 is a tall, light-grey trekking rucksack in high-density Oxford cloth with a breathable mesh back panel. The dog rides inside with its head out of the top opening, held by an adjustable belly band in the main compartment, and a buckled flap closes over the top. Outside there is a flapped front pouch with a reflective strip, a mesh side pocket and compression straps down each side. It is rated to 11 kg (24.3 lb), above the 8–8.2 kg of the cat backpacks in this group.
Built Like a Rucksack, Not a Carrier
The cat packs here — A6621, A6624 and A6681 — are capsules or boxes the animal sits down in, with windows on the sides. A6646 is tall and narrow, carries the dog upright and keeps pockets and compression straps for the owner’s own kit, which is why it suits a day on a trail rather than a vet visit. Where A6646 carries the dog, the saddle bag A6720 is worn by one.
