Frequently asked questions

Factory verification, testing and audit questions buyers ask before placing a first order.

How do you test pet carrier zippers, mesh and load-bearing seams?
Zipper brand, size, slider type and mesh specification are selected against the approved sample and buyer brief rather than assumed for every order. Incoming, inline and final inspection can cover trim identity, operation, stitching, seams, straps, dimensions, packing and carton marks under the agreed inspection plan. When a buyer requires laboratory evidence, we define the applicable method, sample count and acceptance criteria first, then arrange testing through a qualified third party. Supplier declarations or test reports are collected only when available and must be matched to the actual component and production lot; they are not presented as universal proof for every finished product. Our pet carrier quality control checklist explains how to build the project-specific inspection plan.
How can I verify whether a pet carrier supplier is a real factory?
Ask for evidence that cannot be copied from a catalogue. A trading company can send product photos; only a factory can show its own production floor on demand. Request the business licence and check that the registered scope covers manufacturing; ask for a live, unscripted video walk from the fabric store through cutting, sewing lines, branding and packing rather than an edited film; ask how many sewing lines and workers there are and whether the same team handles your sampling and your bulk order; and ask which audits the site has passed and who issued them. Eland Bag operates a 3,000m² workshop with 100+ workers covering sample development, cutting, sewing, branding, quality inspection and packing, and the site has been audited to ISO 9001 and BSCI with SGS and Disney programme experience. We will walk the floor live for you rather than send a pre-recorded tour.
What should I ask during a video audit of a pet bag factory?
Treat it as a live check, not a presentation. Ask the person holding the camera to walk continuously from the material store to the packing area without cutting, so you can see that the areas connect. Useful requests: show the fabric and trim store and pull the lot you would use; show cutting and how pieces are bundled; count the sewing lines and see how many are running; ask which line would take your order and what else it is running that month; look at the inline inspection point and ask what is checked there; see the branding area for the logo method you plan to use; and watch the packing area, including carton marks and how cartons are stacked. Ask timing questions too - visit during a normal working shift, not at lunch or after hours, and ask to see the same line again later in the call. For pet products specifically, ask to see mesh panel sewing and how load-bearing straps are joined, since those are the parts that fail in use.
Do you inspect every unit, or use AQL sampling?
Every unit gets a 100% final inspection before shipment, and you receive a detailed QC report with it. That is our default - we do not ship on a sampling plan alone. If your programme requires an AQL standard, tell us the levels you work to and we will run to them or receive your nominated third-party inspector; both can sit on top of the full inspection. The distinction matters when you compare quotations: AQL sampling asks "how many defective units are acceptable in this lot", while product testing asks "does this design meet a physical standard". They answer different questions, and a sampling plan is not a substitute for laboratory testing of zippers, straps or materials.
Can I verify your ISO 9001, BSCI and SGS certificates?
Yes. Ask for the certificate numbers during your enquiry and we will send them so you can check them against the issuing body's own register rather than taking a scanned image on trust. The site is audited to ISO 9001 and BSCI, with SGS testing and Disney programme experience. Our own registration is public so you can start there: Unified Social Credit Code 91330702MA2M0CNXX6, registered as Jinhua Yilan Industry & Trade Co., Ltd. on 28 December 2020, with a registered scope that covers bag manufacturing — check it on gsxt.gov.cn. Verifying the number, not the picture, is the single fastest way to separate a real audited factory from a trading company reusing someone else's certificate.
